Are you a nonprofit?

BetterWorld is a social impact venture whose one goal is to serve the nonprofits in our communities.  We believe that a better world is possible when nonprofits, businesses and individuals work together for the flourishing of their towns and cities.  We give 100% of the net profits of every candle away to the charity of your choice. 

 

Why soy wax? 

Making each candle is a hands-on experience, so working with natural non-toxic ingredients is extremely important to us. Soy wax produces a cleaner burn with no petrol-carbon soot. Soy is also an American resource that supports local farmers. It is renewable, biodegradable, and water-soluble. and soy wax melts at a cooler temperature, which means your candle will last 30-50% longer than a paraffin candle!

 

Are your candles phthalate-free?

Yes, all our candles are made with phthalate-free fragrance. We like to keep things natural.

 

Why don’t I see my nonprofit on here?

We integrate with the National Registry of Nonprofits, so hopefully all registered nonprofits are available.  If you don’t see a nonprofit on here, rechristen out to the nonprofit and find out how their name is registered.  Their registered name might be slightly different. 

 

Do you offer phone support?

While we would love to offer phone support to all customers, we try to keep our costs downs that more funds can go directly to the causes that matter.  If you have a question, send us an email at support@betterworld.org and we’ll do our best to get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. 

 

How long does it take for the nonprofit to get the funds?

Nonprofits can create an account at any time on betterworld.org to retrieve their funds. For any nonprofit not on BetterWorld, we’ll soon be launching payouts by check as well. 

 

Will the nonprofit know it is from me?

At the moment, each nonprofit will see the funds that they receive and you will know that you have helped make the world better. Attribution is something we are working on, as we would love for the nonprofits you support to know that your purchase made the donation possible. 

 

How long does it take to get my candle?

We utilize small batch production to ensure the quality of all candles we pour.  We typically process all orders within a few days and you should receive your order within 7-10 days. 

 

Is my purchase tax deductible?

Since you are receiving goods, your purchase is not tax deductible. 

 

Can I find your candles in any stores?

At the moment, our candles are only available online at betterworldcandles.com.  Offering candles direct to consumer allows us to maximize the amount of money that goes to charity. 

 

Do you offer discounts on bulk orders?

If you have a large corporate order, please reach out to use at candles@betterworld.org to discuss special pricing.  We don’t typically discount our candles as that reduces the amount that we can give to charity, but we evaluate all partnership | corporate opportunities on their own merits.

 

Return policy

We always want our customers to be satisfied. If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, please contact us. While we cannot offer refunds on partially burned candles, we always want our customers to be satisfied. If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, please send us a note.

Is there sales tax?

The state of Virginia is subject to 5.3% sales tax.
